ACM ICPC South Pacific Central Division Contest 2015 • Saturday August 22, 2015
Introduction
Each year in the middle of second semester the departments and schools across the South Pacific Region take part in the South Pacific Division Contests for the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest. The ACM ICPC is sponsored by IBM and involves a field of over 25,000 students competing from 2,200 universities in 85 countries on 6 continents. The very best teams from the division contest are selected to attend the regional contest in Sydney, and then the best 2 teams in the South Pacific region will be sent to the World Finals!!
The Brisbane Site is hosted by the Science and Engineering Faculty at the Queensland University of Technology.
We are part of the South Pacific Region. Their website has a lot of useful information:
For details of entering a team please see the registation section below or contact Dr Douglas Stebila (3138 9566 or stebila@qut.edu.au).
Location
The Brisbane site will be hosted at the Queensland University of Technology, Gardens Point campus, S Block, level 5, rooms 518 and 519 (Google Maps link).
Parking at QUT
There is a short term Pay and Display car park under the South East Freeway and a Pay on Exit car park under the new Science and Engineering Centre. Access is via Gardens Point Road, which is entered from Alice St just before the on ramp for the South East freeway (M1). The Pay and Display car park has a maximum of 4 hours which can be paid for at ticket machines and this will cost $10.00. The ticket machines DO NOT accept notes or 5c coins. Street parking is available around the city but is likely to be full.
A better option may be to park at Southbank or at the Convention Centre at South Brisbane and to come across the Goodwill Bridge into QUT.
Public transport may be an even better alternative.
